Overview of linear textile products in terms of staple yarn and multifilament, and their classification.

Definition of basic parameters and properties of linear textiles for quality specification.

13:00 – 15:30 Lecture (semi-production lab of spinning)

Brief introduction of the principle of staple spun yarn formation. Basic general technological procedures of yarn production.

Brief introduction of fiber pre-processing and spinning preparation.

18th August

Brief introduction of the most commonly used spinning method, basic principles of ring, open-end, and air-jet spinning.

Brief introduction of linear textile post-processing (final operations – winding, twisting).

Presentation and demonstration of possibilities for design and production of linear textiles in semi-production lab FT TUL (ring spinning, open end spinning, direc twist).

Questions and answers related to the production of a linear textile product.

Introduction of the structural hierarchy of textile products.

Specification of important terminology and basic parameters used for textile description.

Definition of basic qualitative structural parameters of linear textiles - fibres.

Modelling of selected qualitative characteristics based on known theoretical concepts - fibers.

Discussion of results.

Presentation and demonstration of possibilities for fiber/yarn/fabric quality evaluation in the testing lab of FT TUL.

Introduction of the image analysis environment and familiarization with the basics of the terms and methods used.

Evaluation of specific parameters of woven textile products from the perspective of participants via Image Analysis.

Data processing and comparison with expectations leading to verification of the hypothesis that the quality of a linear textile product influences the quality of a woven textile.
